The homepage is a handshake, not a museum
If a stranger cannot tell what you help with in five seconds, the rest of the site does not matter. A grid of latest posts is not a promise. A promise is: who this is for, what changes, and what to do next.
Write the promise in plain language
Skip slogans. Use a sentence a tired person can repeat. "I help independent consultants get clients from a simple weekly email" beats "insights for ambitious humans." Put that sentence at the top. Repeat it in the about line and the quiz CTA.
One primary action
Homepage buttons that compete cancel each other. Pick one: take the quiz, join the list, or read the start-here guide. Secondary links can live lower. The first screen should not look like a toolbar.
Then write posts that prove it
New articles should make the homepage sentence truer. If the promise is list-building, stop publishing random tool roundups. The PLR guide behind this quiz is for people who already have a blog that underperforms - start with the promise, then the next post.
